چکیده

In this Workshop article a Paradigm that can contribute with some essential aspects to establish a baseline for the development of Computational Sapience (Wisdom) as a new discipline is presented. It is demonstrated here that, under the proposed Paradigm, Computational Sapience (Wisdom) methodologies can be developed as a natural extension of some non-conventional (Soft Computing and Computational Intelligence) approaches. It is also also shown here that the proposed Paradigm serves as a general framework for the development of Intelligent / Sapient (Wise) Systems and MetaBots. Furthermore, it is also demonstrated here that under the proposed Paradigm, it is possible to establish some performance criteria for the proper Design and Operation of Intelligent and Sapient (Wise) Systems. These criteria are based on establishing proper bounds on some characterizing matrices having a prominent role on the performance of Intelligent and Sapient (Wise) Systems.

Direction for Artificial Intelligence to Achieve Sapiency Inspired by Homo Sapiens

Artificial intelligence technology has developed significantly in the past decades. Although many computational programs are able to approximate many cognitive abilities of Homo sapiens, the intelligence and sapience level of these programs are not even close to Homo sapiens. Rather than developing a computational system with the intelligent or sapient attribute, I propose to develop a system c...

Experimental Archaeology: Wise Jar - An Ancient Iranian Invention for Liquid Separation From 5thCentury A.H.(9th A.D.)

After advent of Islam especially through and after the reign of Abbasid caliphs; interest of scientists and engineers wasdrawn towards the” mechanical or ingenious devices”. The wise jar was originally designed by Ahmad ibnMüsä, thefamous Iranian scientist who lived in the 5th century A.H.(9th A.D). It consists of a jar with a mechanically intelligentmechanism inside, which is capable of separa...

Wise Computing: Towards Endowing System Development with True Wisdom

Encouraged by significant advances in algorithms and tools for verification and analysis, high level modeling and programming techniques, natural language programming, etc., we feel it is time for a major change in the way complex software and systems are developed. We present a vision that will shift the power balance between human engineers and the development and runtime environments. The id...

Applying Core Interaction Design Principles to Computational Creativity

If we understand computational creativity (CC) as ultimately leading to useful interactive systems, then interaction design (ID) is a relevant body of theory with which to develop and test systems. Yet by engaging with complex and opaque systems, CC appears to break core ID wisdom, which preferences the comprehensibility of the system to users. We discuss core ID principles and ask how we can b...

Towards a Spiking Neural P Systems OS

This paper is an attempt to incorporate the idea of spiking neural P systems as an early seed into the area of Operating System Design, regarding their capability to solve some classical computer science problems. It is reflecting the power of such systems to simulate well known parallel computational models, like logic gates, arithmetic operation, and sorting. In these devices, the time (when ...
